Suitable for: Families wishing to organise a Katha for a special occasion or in memory of ancestors.
Bhagwat Katha is the narration and explanation of the Shrimad Bhagavat Mahapuran — twelve Skandhas, about 18,000 shlokas — which recounts the leelas of Lord Vishnu and Lord Krishna, as Shukdev Ji narrated them to Raja Parikshit. It is traditionally conducted as a Saptah, a Katha spread over seven days.
Our team arranges Bhagwat Katha in Kashi with a Sankalp for your family. The format, schedule and Kathavachak are discussed and confirmed with you before booking is finalised.
Families traditionally organise Bhagwat Katha for spiritual merit, for the peace of departed ancestors, or to mark an important occasion.
A typical Saptah begins with Kalash Yatra, Ganesh Puja and Sankalp, followed by daily Katha with Path and Aarti, and concludes with Havan and Purnahuti. Details are confirmed by the Acharya team.
Because Bhagwat Katha involves planning over several days, please contact our team well in advance with your preferred start date.
After you book, our Kashi team contacts you on WhatsApp or phone to confirm the date and timing, note the names and Gotra for your Sankalp, and explain any preparations. On the day, the Acharya performs the Puja in Kashi — you can join through a live stream or be present in person, depending on the option you choose.
