Suitable for: Devotees of Lord Shiva, families marking a special occasion, and anyone who wishes to offer Rudrabhishek in Kashi from wherever they live.
Rudrabhishek is the ritual bathing (abhishek) of the Shiva Linga while the Rudrashtadhyayi — the hymns to Rudra from the Shukla Yajurveda — is chanted. It is one of the most revered forms of Shiva worship.
Kashi is the city of Lord Shiva and home to Shri Kashi Vishwanath. Performing Rudrabhishek here, with a Sankalp taken in your name, is a deeply meaningful act of devotion for families in India and abroad.
Devotees traditionally perform Rudrabhishek to offer prayers to Lord Shiva for the well-being of their family, and on auspicious occasions such as Mondays (Somvar), the month of Sawan, Pradosh and Maha Shivratri.
A typical vidhi includes Ganesh Puja, Sankalp, abhishek of the Shiva Linga with Ganga Jal, milk, curd, ghee, honey and other traditional dravyas while the Rudrashtadhyayi is recited, offering of Bel Patra, Shringar and Aarti. Larger forms such as Ekadashini Rudra or Laghu Rudra, with several Pandits, are agreed with the Acharya team in advance.
Share the names for the Sankalp, your Gotra (if known) and the occasion. You may choose the form of abhishek — for example Jalabhishek, Dugdhabhishek or Panchamrit Abhishek — or ask the Acharya to suggest one.
After you book, our Kashi team contacts you on WhatsApp or phone to confirm the date and timing, note the names and Gotra for your Sankalp, and explain any preparations. On the day, the Acharya performs the Puja in Kashi — you can join through a live stream or be present in person, depending on the option you choose.
